San Francisco to screen Iran ‘Alphabet’

The 11th edition of the Iranian Film Festival (IFF) in San Francisco has scheduled to screen Iranian short animation ‘Alphabet’.

Directed by Kianoush Abedi, ‘Alphabet’ is a 3D animated production of Iran's Documentary and Experimental Film Center in late 2017.

The 6-minute animated piece depicts a nation that has forgotten the alphabet of living. They cannot see, hear, or speak, but the words are waiting for them eagerly.

‘Alphabet’ has so far won a number of titles from international film events, including the best short film at the 5th Sayulita Film Festival in Mexico.

The 17th Hiroshima International Animation Festival in Japan, the 10th Ortigia International Film Festival in Italy, the 4th Miami Widescreen Film Festival in the US, and the 7th Nebrodi Film Festival in Italy were the most recent experiences of ‘Alphabet’.

The IFF - San Francisco is an annual event showcasing independent feature and short films made by or about Iranians from around the world. Launched in 2008, it is an independent Iranian film festival.

The 11th edition of the IFF is slated for September 22-23, 2018.
